Emmanuel Michel was born in 1970 in La Chaux de Fonds in Switzerland. In 1987 he entered the "l’école de dessin du petit collège"  in Lyon, then from 1988 to 1991 he studied the school of restoration of paintings in Avignon . He graduated in 1994. After this he spent two years in Egypt as a restorer of paintings.

He lives and works in Puybegon in the Tarn.
